LEARN TO MANAGE YOUR BOOKS AND MAKE SENSE OF
YOUR FINANCIAL STATEMENTS!
Through Financial Essentials you will:

  • Develop skills to read and understand a balance sheet, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Spend one-on-one time with a CPA and bookkeeper to establish a proper chart of accounts for your business.

  • Learn to classify revenue and expenses so you can manage your business by the numbers.

Application Deadline is March 13!
Eligibility:

  • Businesses must be in operation with at least 6 months of transactions and located in Cuyahoga County.

  • $350 credit is given for reimbursable expenses related to financial management. Full terms & conditions are available online.

Cohort Schedule:

  • Three classes held on Thursdays
  • March 16, April 6, & April 27
  • 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.

NGLCC COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANT PROGRAM
CALLING ALL LGBTQ+ BUSINESS OWNERS!
The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce and the Grubhub Community Fund have come together to provide vital assistance for LGBTQ+ owned and allied restaurants, cafes, bars serving food, and other eating establishments. The NGLCC Community Impact Grant Program, supported by Grubhub, provides a financial lifeline to these businesses with grants ranging from $10,000 to $25,000. Application deadline March 8, 2023. DEI SUPPLIER ACCELERATOR PROGRAM
A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO SUPPORT LOCAL DIVERSE SUPPLIERS
Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals are committed to leveraging their shared purchasing power and resources to improve economic health of Cleveland's diverse business community by working together to build a more inclusive and sustainable local economy. The DEI Supplier Accelerator program was designed to expand the knowledge and impact of local diverse suppliers in Northeast Ohio.

Ten semifinalists will be selected to spotlight their business to a panel of judges. Five finalists will advance to the DEI Supplier Accelerator Cohort and will participate in a six-month program that will provide:
  • Business development coaching and navigation of the large corporate sourcing process.
  • One-on-one access to leaders and subject matter experts from Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals.
  • Networking opportunities with Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals decision makers and suppliers.
  • Multidisciplinary business review process that provides actionable feedback to develop and grow your business.
  • $10,000 cash prize upon successful completion of the program!

SUSTAINABLE STORES GRANT PROGRAM
The Cuyahoga County Departments of Consumer Affairs and Sustainability, with support from the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District are inviting retailers to apply for the Sustainable Stores Grant. The grant is developed to assist local retail stores become more environmentally sustainable and comply with the Disposable Bag Ban.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available to:
  • Support retailers' efforts to eliminate plastic checkout bags from their operations
  • Educate consumers and retailers about the County's Disposable Bag Ordinance
  • Establish a consumer culture of reusable woven bag use for all shopping trips in Cuyahoga County.

All applications, regardless of project scope, must include a plan to phase out plastic checkout bags. Application Deadline is Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
