THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

On February 5, 15 Chan Zuckerberg Initiative employees volunteered at the Downtown Library as part of their week dedicated to service projects. They spent their time cleaning the Picture Book collection, the library’s largest and most frequently used collection, with some books circulating over 100 times. Thanks to their efforts, the collection is now cleaner and more inviting for families. In addition to their service, Redwood City Public Library received a $5,000 service award in recognition of its partnership in hosting the volunteers.

New Law Improves Pedestrian Safety: No Parking Near Crosswalks

California’s Daylighting Law (AB 413) is now in effect, making it illegal to park within 20 feet of any crosswalk (or 15 feet where a curb extension is present). This law improves visibility at intersections, helping to keep pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers safer.

The Redwood City Police Department has begun issuing warnings, with full enforcement set to begin May 1, 2025.
