Greetings in Christ,
Romans 12:12 reminds us to “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer”. The Governing Board is grateful for the many ways you bring hope through your ministry work around the world and we hold you in our prayers always. Please continue to pray for Rev. Elder Cecilia Eggleston as she continues her treatments.
The MCC Governing Board met on 4th August 2026. Rev. Elder Rich Hendricks opened the meeting in prayer. Rev. Elder Cecilia Eggleston is on medical leave and Dr. Léo Rossetti, Vice Chair moderated our meeting in her absence.
Gisselle Blay, Laity Development Co-ordinator, joined us for a few minutes at the beginning of our meeting and shared an overview of her work and presented this year’s goals.

Governors passed:
- Motion of Appreciation: for Tammy Erwin’s extraordinary work for the 2025 audit.
- Motion to sponsor the amended bylaw proposal amendment from the Commission on General Conferences.
- Motion to sponsor the amended motions (4) from the Commission on General Conference.
- Motion to amend the MCC Process for Discipline of Ministry Leaders Policy to allow the judiciary process manager to be appointed rather than publicly advertised due to the nature of the work.

to Dr. Léo Rossetti for serving as the Vice Chair for the prior year.
to Chad Hobbs for serving as Treasurer for the prior year.
to Rev. Renae Phillips for serving as Clerk for the prior year.
to Charlotte West for serving as Assistant Treasurer for the prior year.
to Rev. Marie Alford-Harkey for writing the Governing Board updates for the prior year.
- Motion to appoint James Chavis and Rev. Beulah Dürrheim as co-chairs of the Governance Committee through December. In January 2027, James Chavis will leave the position of co-chair and Rev. Beulah Dürrheim will serve as chair.

Other Business:
Rev. Renae Phillips provided an update from the Fundraising Team regarding the work in progress, including information about the upcoming Fellowship Offering and expansion of Partners in Hope.
Governors are exploring a tool for self-evaluation.
Governors will plan time in the October meeting to hear from a realtor concerning the Sarasota property.
Rev. Joseph San Jose offered the closing prayer.
