The Governing Board is grateful for the global participation in the Discussion Circles, Forum, and Business Meeting for the Special General Conference. We continue to hold MCC in prayer as we adapt to our changing world. We held our monthly meeting on 6 October. 

Elder Velma Garcia opened the meeting in prayer.

Month-to-date financials are available for review and consideration during each meeting of the Governing Board.)

• Passed a motion to motion to contract Scott Swonger, HomeSmart Realty, to sell the Sarasota, Florida USA property (3293 Fruitville Road unit #105), and delegate the negotiation to Rev. Renae Phillips, Chad Hobbs & Kirk Blandford. Progress on this will be reviewed in January.

New Business:

• Governors received an update on the status of the review of the organization MCC in Canada.
• Kirk Blandford, Operational Development Team Lead, shared an analysis of assessments revenue. There has been a reduction in assessments income and that can be attributed in large part to specific circumstances of nine USA churches. Other churches are growing in giving and we give thanks for this
• Learned that the 2027 budget process is underway with the budget development team.
• Governors debriefed the Special General Conference Forum. Initial feedback is that delegates appreciated hearing and seeing one another during the Forum.
• The Governing Board received updates on various local church situations.
• Governors discussed establishing a workgroup to have conversation with churches who do not appear to be in alignment with their covenant in MCC. Rev. Elder Cecilia will bring this item to the Council of Elders. Rev. Marie Alford-Harkey and Rev. Renae Phillips agreed to work on this.
• Received and discussed the “Report on Concerns Raised by Women in ICM México.”
• Agreed to meet 16 January 2027 for a Governing Board planning session.
