The MCC Governing Board met on 7 July 2026. Rev. Elder Stuart Sutherland opened the meeting in prayer.

Approved a motion of thanks to Christopher Celesté and all who contributed to the 2025 MCC Annual report for an excellent document.
Approved a motion to establish the start time of the Special General Conference Forum on 3rd October 2026 at 1 pm GMT.
Approved a motion to establish the start time of the Special General Conference on 6th October 2026 at 1 pm GMT.

Other Business:

Governors continued the discussion of their responsibilities for the Special General Conference to consider the recommendations of the Commission on General Conference. 100 people participated in the Discussion Circles (not including Commissioners, Staff, Elders, and Governors). The feedback from those circles is being analyzed and considered.
Received a report on the Moderator’s evaluation presented by Rev. Renae Phillips and Dr. Léo Rossetti. The evaluation summary will be shared with the Human Resources Team who will follow up on suggested areas of growth and continue to encourage the Moderator to use her strengths.
Rev. Renae Phillips shared an update from the Governing Board Nominating Team regarding their process and a proposed timeline.
Governors reviewed the roles and responsibilities of elected officers and will share their interests in the positions in advance of August’s elections.
Governors reviewed the updated policy handbook (version 23) and will review the overall content of the policies with the goal of creating a substantive revision by March 2027.
Rev. Renae Phillips provided an update on the Sarasota property.
Governors agreed to resume staff roles/responsibilities presentations in August.
