April Governing Board Update

Greetings from your MCC Governing Board. We hope that everyone is finding ways to celebrate the Resurrection during this Easter season.

The MCC Governing Board met on 7 April 2026. Rev. Elder Aaron Miller opened the meeting in prayer.

Actions:

Other Business:

  • In our continuing series of getting to know the MCC staff and their work and roles, Rev. Elder Héctor Gutiérrez, member of the Senior Leadership Team, and responsible for overseeing staff ministry with churches and church leaders, presented an overview of his work, his passions, and a goal he is working on this year.
  • Discussed the Special General Conference that will be held to consider the recommendations from the Commission on General Conference. This commission considered feedback from the survey on our last General Conference, as well as input from sessions at various network gatherings and from staff, to make recommendations for future General Conferences. The Governing Board is finalizing the date and timeline of the Special General Conference, which will be held online.
  • April's MCC & the Future session notes will be analyzed and available to the Governing Board and Council of Elders for review by June 2026.
  • Governors shared updates about their contacts with churches recognizing their faithful giving. We are grateful for the positive feedback.

Governor Rev. Joseph San Jose offered our closing prayer.

In this Easter season, we are reminded that new life is always possible, that hope rises even from the hardest places, and that love is never defeated. Thank you for the love you pour into your communities and for the hope you embody every day. Together, we continue to build a global church rooted in our core values of inclusion, community, spiritual transformation, and justice.

Respectfully Submitted:
