The need for pet support is urgent. Families are struggling, and pets are affected, too. This leads to loved pets being given up every single day by heartbroken owners who think this is their only option.
Until now, people in Los Angeles haven't always known how to find, or access, these needed pet resources that would help them care for their pets through difficult times.
Pets.findhelp.com, created by Human Animal Support Services, is the first platform of its kind to make accessing pet support in Los Angeles easy.
The website is launching in Los Angeles; Atlanta, GA; San Diego, CA; Fresno, CA; Rochester, NY; and Dallas, TX; in partnership with Human Animal Support Services, with plans to expand to more cities across the country throughout 2022.
"Finding resources and programs to help keep people and their furry family members together can be challenging and often difficult to find," says Annette Ramirez, Interim General Manager for LA Animal Services. “With the launch of pets.findhelp.com, people can find and learn about all the support that LA Animal Services and our community partners have available for anyone who needs it, by typing in their zip code on the site."
"Pets and people belong together," says Maddie’s® American Pets Alive! director Kristen Hassen, who leads the Human Animal Support Services project. "With pets.findhelp.com, we honor and preserve the human-animal bond by making sure that families can find and access the support they need, and pets are not unnecessarily given up to shelters."
