First-Hand Experience:
Beaches Ocho Rios Resort - Jamaica
I had a great few days showing my family the beautiful island of Jamaica. They have never been and I really wanted them embrace the culture and the landscape. We stayed at Beaches Ocho Rios on the northeast side of the island, where we were able to take advantage of a lot of the included activities. Let me tell you more about it!
A Full Day of Exploring Beaches Ocho Rios Resort

The kiddos were in their swim suits seconds after we got our room key. They took off and were ready to hit the first pool they saw, which happened to be the main pool where they discovered mango smoothies. They loved that they could grab a seat at the swim-up bar and order it themselves.
Pirate's Island Water Park

It took a little persuading that there was more to the resort than the one pool, but once they laid eyes on Pirate's Island Water Park, the kids were in heaven. It was perfect, as often the height requirements for slides on cruises or overseas is 48 inches, this one was 42 inches. It was just right!
Free Inclusions
Beaches offers unlimited access to snorkeling, Hobie Cats, banana boats and paddle boarding, but my favorite was the glass-bottom boat ride, where we got to see the valleys of coral reef below the water line that keeps the beach calm. My personal highlight was when the sea turtle that swam by. Made my day!
Entertainment

Every night they had a show on the main stage. Sometimes it was a Sesame Street show, sometimes it was a talent show. Later in the night, they might have a chocolate tasting and on White Night, they have a dance party (that was my favorite night)! There was always excitement, always something to do and always a friendly face!
Kids Camp

My kids loved going to the Kids Camp and could not wait to get rid of us. They had Rocket Launch Beach Science Experiments, Saco Dance Class, Jamaican Boot Camp, and Xbox Fun Time, all scheduled into the day. The teachers were fun and put a braid in my 7 year old's hair. He loved his teacher and the braid so much that he says he will never take it out!
