Agricultural Education Students Volunteer at Tri- State Fair

Agricultural Education students and Dr. Nate Wolf, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education and Leadership, volunteered at this year's Tri-State Fair & Rodeo.

Specifically, the group helped to facilitate the Ag Mechanics show held on Friday, Sept. 14.

"While there, we were able to help the judges and students throughout the contest," said Chevi Dawn, senior Agricultural Education major. "One of the best parts of the contest is getting to hear how the students built their projects and how excited they were to show off what they had created. Getting to see that firsthand really shows the positive impact that Ag programs can have on their students."

Recruitment Trip to Wyoming and Colorado

Dr. Lauren Pool, Clinical Assistant Professor of Agriculture and Online Master of Agriculture Coordinator, along with Recruitment Coordinator, Addie Brown, recently traveled to Wyoming and Colorado to recruit potential students to the Department of Agricultural Sciences.

On this recruiting trip, the pair visited 5 junior colleges, including Casper College, Central Wyoming College, Laramie County Community College, Eastern Wyoming College, and Northeastern Junior College, and 1 high school, Sterling High School.

"This trip gave us the chance to meet some outstanding prospective students who share our passion for agriculture," said Dr. Pool. "We’re so proud of the tradition our students from Wyoming and Colorado have built, and we hope to welcome even more of them to WTAMU soon."
