Dear Friends,

How do we plant optimism? How do we plant hope? How do we believe that we can go forward when all around us there are issues and events that are hard to talk about. Well, I pray that we pray, to be God’s people of light and love. May we never forget…it is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness. May we light candles for healing and wholeness amidst this pandemic.

Each Sunday and during the week for Morning Prayer and Compline we can refuel. Each Sunday after the online service at 10am, the Body of Christ, the Bread of Heaven, is yours to receive at 11, 11:15, 11:30 or 11:45. Please RSVP - see below.

Please email or call if there is anything on your heart and mind that would benefit by our shared illumination! This is a time of uncertainty and we are in this together.

May God bless us, guide us, protect us and use us!
With love and care…
Faithfully,
Please email or text (310-995-6519), Paula+ with your desired reserved time for Sunday Communion. (11, 11:15, 11:30, 11:45). I will reply to confirm.

Taizé Service of Healing & Wholeness
Tuesday, July 28, 7 pm
Join us again for our online Taizé service of healing with Jeannie, Clayton and Alexander Milovanov. The service is filled with music and beautiful images. We pray that the time will be a healing comfort for whatever you face or hold in your heart.
Be together - 5 days a week, as well as Sundays.
Morning prayer twice-weekly, led by Paula+, and Compline three times per week, led by Jude+ and a team of lay leaders. Each service includes the traditional service, plus words from the leader, and explanations of the readings. They are prayerful and quiet, a far cry from the turmoil of the world, and medicine to help us heal and be comforted and inspired.

An Invitation to Learn - Update!
By The Rev. Jude Lyons

I have been overwhelmed of late with all the racism resources that appear in my email in-boxes, on social media, on websites, and on screens of all kinds. Perhaps you are overwhelmed too. It is so hard to choose what to focus on or even what to learn from. But, I continue to try to sort it out, and I continue to watch documentaries! Here an interview from the Episcopal News Service as well as a Diocesan letter from Bishop Diane. I am continuing to gather more materials from the Episcopal Church because I trust them and because they offer varying types of information and levels of engagement.
We will soon have a page on our website to gather all the materials I find so that all who wish to can have access to them.

Strength for the Journey,
Jude+
