LOANS OF UP TO $50,000 TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS AND BUSINESS OWNERS


Last month, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, announced that Women’s Enterprise Organizations of Canada (WEOC) will be providing loans of up to $50,000 to women entrepreneurs and business owners this fall through the Women Entrepreneurship Loan Fund.


WEOC will deliver the Women Entrepreneurship Loan Fund through its regional loan fund partners. They will work with women entrepreneurs at every stage of the application process and deliver top-quality wraparound business support, including helping applicants with the development of viable business plans and providing advisory services, training and loan aftercare

Our 28 volunteers are hitting the pavement at 1:00PM on September 28th to survey all businesses. The volunteers will travel 14 routes until 4:00PM to gather constructive information on the business community’s overall operation.

Ktunaxa Nation Council is hosting the 2022 Ktunaxa Business Showcase. This will be an environment designed for Ktunaxa business owners, entrepreneurs and artisans to generate relevant regional business relations, efficiently maximize local brand awareness and highlight their products and services.


All Ktunaxa businesses, entrepreneurs and artisans are invited to participate! The morning will consist of a speed-dating event with industries while the afternoon will be a business showcase open to the general public.

Included here is a report provided by Kootenay Rockies Tourism regarding our regional visitation statistics.


Key Findings:

  • The number of visitors to the Kootenay Rockies from Canadian travellers decreased by 20% when comparing June 2022 to June 2019.
  • Visitors increased by 12% when compared to June 2020 and increased by 28% when compared to June 2021.
  • Alberta made up the majority of visitors to the Kootenay Rockies at 51% followed by British Columbia at 38%.
