Dear Friends:

We hope everyone had a great summer and that you were able to make some long-lasting memories with family and friends. As we look towards the fall season, we are excited to resume in-person events as fall begins. Your health and well-being is our top priority – and you can rest assured that we are taking all the necessary safety precautions.

Please save the date for our Guardian Angels Event Hosted By Saks Dadeland and Dior on September 14. We also encourage you to save the date (and your spot!) for the 22nd Annual Guardians of the Children Luncheon & Fashion Show on November 23, 2021, at the Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne.

Finally, the 2022 Golden Angels Gala will be held at the new Jackson West Medical Center in Doral, home to José Milton Memorial Hospital.

With so much to look forward to in the coming months, we are especially excited to see all of you. We wish you a beautiful start to the new season.

Holtz Children's Hospital Miracle Story
Ella Palinchak
JoAnna and Kris Palinchak were overwhelmed with joy for the birth of their twin girls in December 2015. For first-time parents, having two girls was a dream come true. But three months after the birth of their daughters, the new parents noticed that one of the twins, Ella, was progressing differently than her sister, Lacy.

Ella had developed jaundice, a condition that causes yellowing of the skin and eyes. She required immediate medical attention and was taken to a local hospital near their home in Naples. Doctors there conducted exploratory surgery and performed a liver biopsy.

Initially, doctors suspected Ella had biliary atresia, a rare and genetic life-threatening disease that affects the bile ducts in the liver of infants. The Palinchaks were advised to have Ella evaluated by the Miami Transplant Institute (MTI). Read more about Ella and her story of courage and tenacity here.
We Could Use A Shot In The Arm
How do you thank an entire healthcare system during a pandemic? For risking their lives to save others? For listening to the dreams and fears of patients in isolation and their families? For stepping up to the challenge with PPE, COVID-19 testing sites, and a robust vaccination effort for our community? With the help and dedication of over 13,000 Jackson employees, our community confronted COVID-19 head-on. One great way to show your appreciation for this selfless work is by making a gift to the Miracle Fund today.

Help us recover from an unprecedented year; one in which we achieved:

  • More than 173,000 people vaccinated
  • More than 6,000 COVID-19 patients discharged and reunited with their loved ones
  • More than 500 days of fighting COVID-19 24/7 (and counting…)

People like you make these achievements possible. Every day, pandemic or not, your support helps us make miracles. So give us a much-needed shot in the arm. Click the link below to make a one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation to the Miracle Fund today.
Tune In: September Parental Guidance
High Risk Pregnancies
September 30, 2021, at 8 p.m.
Pregnancy is nothing short of a miracle. But, sometimes, you or your baby might require extra care. Many factors can lead to a pregnancy being classified as high-risk, which can put you or your baby at increased risk of health problems before, during, or after delivery. What's more, high-risk pregnancies can take an emotional toll on expectant parents, and a newborn admission to the neonatal ICU further elevates the risk for psychological distress in parents after birth. Learn how you can prepare to take care of your baby and yourself, both medically and emotionally during this process. Register for this webinar here.
