Dear Friends:

Each year in February, we join the nation in acknowledging American Heart Month by raising awareness about heart health and advances in cardiac care. This year, we are delighted to share that Holtz Children’s Hospital recently opened a new state-of-the-art operating room, giving surgeons access to advanced technology to treat a full range of pediatric cardiac disease and congenital heart defects. Opening the new OR is another significant milestone at Holtz Children’s, which offers the only comprehensive pediatric heart program in Miami-Dade County. We feature more information about the OR in this issue of our newsletter.

Our donor spotlight in this issue features none other than Harvey and Roberta Chaplin, who recently made a major gift in support of Holtz Children’s. The Chaplins are longstanding members of our philanthropic family, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued generosity.

In addition to its designation as American Heart Month, February has long been acknowledged as the month of love. We can genuinely say that we feel the love from all of our donors. Thank you for continuing to support our foundation.

Sincerely,
Charmaine Gatlin

Golden Angel Spotlight
Harvey and Roberta Chaplin
During these challenging times, our Golden Angels and Guardian Angels have stepped up to support both Jackson Health System and Holtz Children’s Hospital. Harvey and Roberta Chaplin recently made a $100,000 gift to be applied to areas within Holtz Children’s where the need is greatest. The Chaplin family are long-time supporters of Jackson. In 2010, the health system named the Chaplin Family Pediatric Emergency Room in their honor. Two years later, Jackson established the Roberta Orlen Chaplin Digital Breast Imaging Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Thank you to the Chaplin family. We are grateful for this generous donation to support Holtz Children’s. Join the Chaplins and make a donation to support patients in need at Holtz Children’s today.
Our Family is Growing
