Elephant in the Room

Come along with Chris and Martin as they discover the growth and survival skills of elephants when a lost baby elephant becomes more than they bargained for! Use this

resource group to learn how the elephant's trunk is an important tool and serves multipurpose functions such as showering, blasting water, grabbing, lifting, communicating, "hearing", pushing and pulling. In this episode, Martin and Chris find a lone baby elephant and bring him back to the Tortuga HQ for safety until they can find his mom--but they quickly discover the growth and survival skills of elephants when the baby almost destroys the HQ!

The Emperor's New Clothes
Grade Range: PreK-1

Using this Super WHY! episode, students learn about the value of communicating feelings using the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes". They also follow the
alphabet, practice spelling skills and use the power to read to change the story. Students follow along as Pig feels embarrassed when Jill asks him to wear a bucket on his head in order to play their game. The Super Readers dive into the tale of "The Emperor's New Clothes" and meet someone else who doesn't want to look ridiculous in front of his friends. Pig learns that being silent about his feelings makes him feel as silly as wearing a bucket.
