Circle of CAiR

Looking for a creative way to connect with your recovery? Join us every Wednesday from 6:30–8:00 PM at FREE Recovery Community for Circle of CAiR—an all-pathways recovery meeting where creativity and healing come together. 🎨💛

Each week offers a new creative activity paired with meaningful discussion, giving you space to explore, express, and grow.

🌱 May 6th – Monthly Intention Practice 🌱

Each month we will meditate and write or draw an intention we have for ourselves or the world as a whole. After discussion, we will write our intentions on dissolving paper, putting them into the water and watering our “Circle of CAiR” plant. Month by month, we watch our plant grow as a symbol of our own growth as we set goals for ourselves.

Artist Spotlight

De’Andre ~Deillis~ Sims

As an artist, my reason for creating art is to get out of me the Awesomeness that God has put in me on display for OUR enjoyment. My art style is a blend of tribal, graffiti, with a twist of geometric shapes and patterns. I use a drawing app called concept to digitally enhance my work as I redraw and recreate my original pieces. Some of my art has special features that is meant to be engaging with the viewer by tracing the black or white lines to see where it leads. I take pictures of my work along the way as I draw it, to see how it evolves and transforms over time.

Some of my inspiration includes roller skating at Skate City, listening to funky hip-hop soul music at wefunkradio.com. Watching Anime, other creative beings at work, graffiti, murals, portraits, and tattoo artists because level their level of detail is Dynamic!

My goal is to advocate for Mental Health Awareness through my art, sharing with others my story of recovery and by hosting and participating in community events as I grow and GLOW.

The marathon continues! Be well live well.
Peace…

How has art helped you in recovery?

Art has helped me in my recovery by allowing to see what my dreams and imagination can look like with a clean and clear mind.
