May 2013
Dear ,
Wish you could have been with me while teaching at Nepal Theological College. I was able to meet with ten worthy Timothy Fund recipients.
Education is not cheap anywhere, but almost out of reach in a country where average wage is $200 per year. Fees at Nepal Theological College are 73,000 Rupees annually or the equivalent of $100 a month. GlobalEd has been able to assist 10 students with Timothy Fund scholarships this year, helping train more leaders for a church growing beyond its capacity to keep its pulpits filled with qualified pastors. They said to tell you, 'thank you'!

"As a Hindu country, Christianity was banned in Nepal until a 1951 revolution finally allowed entry to foreign Christians," according to PAOC global worker, Tony Baker who visited Nepal recently.
"It is estimated that by the end of 1951 there were only 30 Nepalese that had converted to Christianity and by 1978 that number had increased to 800. But with the late 20th Century Pentecostalism crossing its borders a Sovereign move of the Holy Spirit came upon this tiny nation. With a message of hope, breakdown of racial and gender barriers, and emphasis on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, it is estimated that about 1 million, or 2.6% of the population are now practicing Christians."

The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Nepal, Samuel Bomzon, writes, "God has blessed us with such growth in the work of the Assemblies of God Nepal since its small beginning in 1981.
"Today we have 800 member churches and around 400 in the process of affiliating. We have two Bible Schools to train workers/leaders. It is schools like Nepal Theological College that has risen to meet the need."
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN for your support of GlobalEd, the Timothy Fund and for all your prayers for Irving during this last year!
