Drawing (Botany) Home:
Finding Place with Field Journaling
Botanist and author Lyn Baldwin will bring her expertise in conservation biology and art to Squamish!

Thursday / June 8 / 3 - 6 pm / Library Meeting Room

About the workshop:
Join artist, author and botanist Lyn Baldwin for a special hands-on-workshop celebrating the release of her illustrated book, Drawing Botany Home: A Rooted Life.
Participants will use a series of drawing and writing exercises to create a visually captivating page-spread, as a first step in exploring how the practice of nature journaling can help weave a reciprocal relationship between people and place.

Designed to be a ½ day immersion in the tools and techniques of nature journaling, the workshop is open to novice and veteran artists, naturalists and curious newcomers, alike. No previous expertise needed, beginners welcome! Lyn will have drawing and watercolour kits available for use during the workshop.

About Lyn:
Lyn Baldwin is an award-winning educator and plant conservation biologist who uses art and science to help mitigate society’s extinction of experience with the botanical world.

Registration is required for this free workshop (limited space)
Please email library@squamish.ca to sign up.
Everyone is welcome, no previous expertise needed. This workshop is geared towards adults.

Join us later that evening for an author talk and reading with Lyn from her new book, Drawing Botany Home: A Rooted Life! (see info below).
