Living a fulfilling life for you may include having a spouse, raising children, being successful in your career, being involved in activities, and enjoying a variety of events. For adults, it is not uncommon to feel “down in the dumps” or like nothing satisfies you at some point in time. And unfortunately, this has increased over the last few years due to the pandemic, working from home, kids in virtual learning, and continued concerns about COVID in addition to the day-to-day responsibilities. If this feeling of being “down in the dumps” persists, it may be time to seek counseling. However, if you are needing some inspiration and direction to get back on the right track, here are a few suggestions to find your L.I.G.H.T.
Look within: What has brought you pleasure in the past? Can you begin doing that again such as painting, building, knitting, reading, playing an instrument, or even watching virtual concerts? Have you lost touch with long-lost friends or family who don’t live nearby? Reconnecting with others can bring you pleasure.
