Disasters happen and it makes sense to think about what personal and family information you would need in an emergency or other difficult situation. When hard times happen, it's not always clear where to start or what documents you'll need, adding stress to an already stressful situation. Planning ahead can help get you back on your feet.

The library will be kicking-off our Smart Money in Difficult Times series with a free community Resource Fair. Our local partners and non-profit organizations will be in one place to make it easier for you to plan. You’ll get tips and tools for reviewing your financial status and learn about available resources, that you may not have known about. We'll even give you a free 8G flash drive that's pre-loaded with check lists and valuable information with enough storage left to safeguard your critical documents so they're always there when you need them.

This program is made possible by a grant from the FINRA Investor Education Series.

Romance Readers: LGBTQ+ Romance

Wednesday, October 9

6:00 PM

Instead of reading the same book and discussing it, we're going to be reading a book that has the same theme.

For this meeting, read an LGBTQ Romance (or 2!) and come prepared to discuss how it fits within the Romance Genre! Per NoveList: These romances center on LGBTQIA couples, and may be set during any time period. Just a head's up, some of these stories deal with very heavy topics, and may not have a happy ending. LGBTQ romances include, but are not limited to, gay, lesbian, trans, and non-binary romances.

Stanley Milford Jr.

Wednesday, October 16

6:00 PM

About the Book:

In The Paranormal Ranger, Milford recounts all the stories from the logical, factual, and serious perspective of a law enforcement officer. Far from the tinfoil hat and conspiracy crowd, Milford’s Native American worldview and investigative training provide a chilling, realistic perspective on what logic dictates should not be possible.

About the Author:

Stanley Milford, Jr., graduated from the United States Indian Police Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico, and worked continuously as a sworn law enforcement officer for over twenty-three years. Bethany Turner - Author

Tuesday, October 22

6:00 PM

Bethany Turner has been writing since the second grade, when she won her first writing award for explaining why, if she could have lunch with any person throughout history, she would choose John Stamos. She stands by this decision.

Bethany now writes pop culture–infused rom-coms for a new generation of readers who crave fiction that tackles the thorny issues of life with humor and insight. She lives in Southwest Colorado with her husband, whom she met in the nineties in a chat room called Disco Inferno. As sketchy as it sounds, it worked out pretty well in this case, and they are now the proud parents of two grown sons.

Text Bethany any time at (970) 387-7811, or connect with her across social media @seebethanywrite, where she clings to the eternal dream that John Stamos will someday send her a friend request.

Bethany will be selling and signing copies of her books!
