Generous Gift and Commitment

Shown to Findley Lake

The Findley Lake Community Foundation would like to take a moment to recognise WeissEarley Landscape Design & Contracting LLC. Findley Lake Watershed Foundation has received a tremendous gift. After reaching out to Chuck Weiss about annual service for lawn care, maintenance and upkeep of the grass areas of the gazebo and park, also the land between the boat launch and the back of Twin Docks, the Watershed Foundation received a community commitment from WeissEarley to perform all this work as a gift to the community. This represents thousands of dollars of labor and supplies. Both Foundations are greatly appreciative of this generous commitment and gift to Findley Lake!

Thank you

Memorial Service for Ruth Andrews

May 4th at 2PM

Clymer Hill Reformed Church

There will be a memorial for Ruth Andrews, a 41 year resident of Findley Lake, on Sunday, May 4th at 2 pm at the Clymer Hill Reformed Church in Clymer, NY. Ruth and her husband, Richard Andrews, owned the Mayflower Lodge on Sunnyside. Ruth operated The Pilgrim's Progress Christian Pre-school in their home for 12 years leaving many graduates with fond memories and great education. Richard and Ruth were very active in the beginnings of the Findley Lake Chamber of Commerce and Ruth organized the summer concerts at the gazebo for many years. Ruth also was known as a singer in local events and acted in over 40 plays in nearby towns. A full biography, pictures and obituary will be in the Button Quinn Funeral Home obituaries on-line, on and after May 1st. Refreshments will be served after the participatory service in the downstairs social room of the church. Please call Leslie, Ruth's daughter, at 814-462-8084 with any concerns or memories.

We need your help to fund lake treatment plans
Last year, the Findley Lake Watershed Foundation successfully treated the north half of Findley Lake for Eurasian Watermilfoil, funded by a grant from Chautauqua County. This year, we aim to treat the southern portion of the lake, but we did not receive a grant for treatment. To proceed, we need your help.

We have submitted three DEC permit applications for three water treatments, but to fund them we will need to rely on donations of up to $33,000.

Do you remember how there were fewer weeds last year? Please consider pledging a donation to help enhance Findley Lake this summer.
