At approximately 7:40 a.m. the morning of Aug. 11, 2025, a fire was reported in the historic Vogelsang Building, located in the 1900 block of Avenue G in Historic Downtown Rosenberg.
The structure, built in 1910 by Jacob Gray, sustained significant damage. Initial damage reports are upwards of $750,000. The fire is believed to have originated in the roof/attic area and may be related to a mechanical failure. The Rosenberg Fire Marshal’s Office is actively investigating.
The Rosenberg Fire Department would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the surrounding agencies who assisted, including: Beasley, Community, ESD 48, Fort Bend County EMS, Fulshear-Simonton, Katy, Missouri City, Needville, Pearland, Richmond, Stafford, Sugar Land, Westlake and Willowfork, along with the Rosenberg Police Department.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
