Thank you for participating in our Fire Drill.

Dear Friends:
Thank you for your participation this past Shabbat in our first ever Shabbat morning fire drill. With everyone's active cooperation, we evacuated the main sanctuary in under one minute and the building in under five minutes, and we completed the exercise and returned to the building in under 25 minutes. We should all be very proud of these achievements.
A special thank you to our facilities manager, Jerome Thomas, and the members of our Safety Committee for their hard work and preparation, which were crucial to the success of the drill.
There have been several comments and questions that have been consistent in the feedback we have received that I would like to address:
- The alarms in the Main Sanctuary were not as clearly audible as we might like. We will follow up with our Fire Systems contract about installing an additional speaker in the room.
- A few people commented that while we evacuated the Main Sanctuary very quickly, it took an extra few minutes to get everyone down the patio stairs. Please know that we purposely directed traffic away from the main entrance, since in a real emergency first responders would be crowding the main entrance and our priority is to allow them access.
We welcome any other feedback or comments you may have on the fire drill or any other aspect of the Bayit's operation as we continue to provide both meaningful tefillot and opportunities for spiritual growth in a caring and safe environment.
All the best,
David Schwartz, President
