Fire Hydrant Painting
Hamilton, Ohio -  The north side of High Street between River Front Plaza and North Third Street will be subject to sidewalk restrictions beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 until 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2016, each day for fire hydrant painting. Pedestrians will be able to use the sidewalk on the north side of High Street during the cleaning and painting activities. However, please be cautious around the work. Parking spaces on the north side of High Street in the vicinity of the fire hydrants may be restricted in order to provide a safe work zone.

The City of Hamilton has partnered with the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities, ViaQuest Inc. and the InsideOut Studio to clean and paint fire hydrants in the downtown and Ward 2. This is a pilot program to initially have approximately five hydrants downtown artistically painted and approximately twenty-six hydrants re-painted standard safety yellow in Ward 2 area generally bounded by Pershing Avenue -Neilan Blvd., Ludlow St., and South Third Street. ViaQuest Inc. will be performing the painting preparation work of the fire hydrants. The artists from InsideOut Studio will creatively paint the five pilot fire hydrants downtown. ViaQuest will go on to prepare and paint the twenty-six fire hydrants in the Second Ward with safety yellow paint color. With the success of the pilot program, the City anticipates expanding the program through the downtown and historic areas of the City with additional artistically painted fire hydrants and continued safety yellow re-painting of fire hydrants throughout the rest of the City.

Work will be conducted weather permitting. "No Parking" signs will be posted as needed. Fire hydrants will be cordoned off during and after maintenance activities. Please use caution in work zone and obey signage.
