February has been an exciting month for Renton RFA as we celebrate the official completion of Fire Station 15. The 7,500 square foot station is officially stocked, staffed, and operating to serve the community members of Kennydale and beyond.
A small, ceremonial ribbon cutting will occur later this month. There will also be a large open house event for the community as a whole later in the spring when the weather is a little warmer. We encourage everyone to stay tuned and join us to meet your new Kennydale firefighters!
This new station was one of the core promises made by Renton Fire when we asked for the community to vote in the RFA back in 2016. We are so grateful for that vote, as it gave us the opportunity to build a much needed station that will help save lives across the community.
We are also grateful for the City of Renton and their forethought in purchasing space for the station back in the 1990's, as well as their ongoing support to bring this long-awaited station to fruition. We could not have done it without the help and support of so many. Thank you!
