PATHS to Social Emotional Learning
All of DCDC's Preschool Classrooms are now using the PATHS Social Emotional Curriculum with our students. The PATHS curriculum creates an environment that helps preschool children develop better self-control, self-esteem, emotional awareness, basic problem-solving skills, social skills, and friendships. As part of our philosophy, DCDC strives to meet the needs of the whole child – social, emotional and academic. The PATHS program is the final curriculum piece that allows our preschool teachers more time for teaching and our children more capacity for learning.
At Bloom Rd, Twiggle, the Turtle was teaching our Preschoolers what to do if they are sad or mad about something and that it’s ok to be mad. Twiggle tells them to count to 10 take some deep breaths and also to tell someone using your words how you are feeling.
