When I joined Newport in 2013, one of my responsibilities was to personally oversee a number of our hotels while also serving as Chief Operating Officer. It was during that time that I began working closely with ROCH Capital. At the time, they owned a single property—the Hilton Garden Inn in Frederick, Maryland. That early partnership gave me the opportunity to report directly to Vince Abessinio, the President of ROCH and a leader I came to deeply admire and respect.
