Summer is off to a fun start! Camps and concerts have begun; fireworks is up next. Registration continues for the Town tennis tournament, tennis clinics, swim lessons, soccer, and skateboarding for youth and pickleball and tennis for adults. For residents in financial need, scholarships are available for youth programs; read more below. For a listing of upcoming community events in July and August, click here. Summer Concert Series information is provided below. The Town's annual fireworks displays at Greenwich Point and Binney Park will be Saturday, July 6. Save the date of Saturday, July 27 for the annual Sandblast Sand Sculpture Contest.

Limited Openings Remain in
Some Sections of Our Day Camps.

Greenwich residents are required to provide proof of residency once per calendar year for all Parks and Recreation programs. Camp registration is now open to non-residents.

Kamp Kairphree for children ages 5-12, has no openings.
Summer Adventurers, for ages 8-15, has no openings.
Music, Art and Dance Camp is for children entering grades 4-9. The afternoon Art and Dance options are now full. The program runs July 1 - August 2.
Day camps require a Camp Health Exam form to be completed.

We also offer one remaining week of soccer held in cooperation with Soccer Extreme . The BWGCC will be hosting Mad Science Summer Programs over three separate weeks, Sew Happy Fashion Runway Camp, Filmmakers Ink Camp for one remaining week and a FREE one-week Young Filmmakers and Journalists Workshop.
Summer Swim Lessons will be held for youth from ages four and up at the Greenwich Pool in Byram Park. Eight, one-half hour group lessons will be held on Mondays through Thursdays with a rain date of Friday, for two consecutive weeks. Register for classes running July 8-18, July 22 - August 1, and August 5-15.
Information is now available for the annual Town Tennis Tournament which will be held from July 13 to July 27. Participants must be Greenwich residents and possess a valid tennis pass to participate. For information on obtaining a tennis pass, click here.
Registration continues for Youth and Adult Tennis Clinic Instruction. Tennis instruction is held for ages four years through adult. Clinics are held Monday through Thursday. You can register for one or more weeks, from June 3-6 through July 29 - Aug. 1.
Details of our Summer Concert Series are now available.

Wednesday night concerts will be held in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park at 7:15 p.m. with a rain date of the following Thursday. Please NO pets and NO grills.

It's almost time for our annual fireworks displays at Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park. Both shows will be held on Saturday, July 6 with a rain date of Sunday, July 7. Pets are not permitted at Greenwich Point Park and should not be brought to Binney Park. Please bring a flashlight. Click on the links above for more details.
Greenwich Recreation in cooperation with Greenwich Arts Council bring you the annual Sandblast Sand Sculpture Contest on Saturday, July 27. A valid park pass and parking pass is required for entry. Enjoy a day at the beach while building a sand sculpture with friends and family. Thanks to our sponsors Meli-Melo and BeachMate
Summer Sports

In cooperation with Soccer Extreme, we are offering Summer Clinics for youth ages 4-12. Ages 4 and 5 play from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and ages 6-12 play from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. One week remains from August 5 - 9. Register now!

Adults who already know how to play pickleball can register for our Summer Pickleball program held at Loughlin Avenue Park. For all of the summer pickleball opportunities, click here.
Cos Cob Community Preschool

Registration is open for the Cos Cob Community Preschool 2019-2020 year. Classes are held Monday-Friday, and will operate for a longer day from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 54 Bible Street in Cos Cob. The Preschool is licensed by the State of CT and is reasonably priced. For information, send an email.
Greenwich Skatepark

From now through August, the Skatepark is open weekdays from 3:30 - 7 p.m. and weekends 12:30 - 7 p.m. Download a schedule of hours and fees. The park is located at the foot of Arch Street. We have Information on Summer Ramp Camps, too. For weather issues call 203-496-9876.
Eastern Greenwich Civic Center

The EGCC has several on-going programs including Stroller Strides, Greenwich Archery, Wednesday Painters, Pickleball, and more. Call 203-637-4583 for open gym hours.

Bendheim Western Civic Center

During the summer, the BWGCC is hosting Filmmakers Ink programs and a FREE one-week Young Filmmakers and Journalists Workshop. We also are hosting Sew Happy Fashion Runway Camps for Kids, and Mad Science Summer Programs. The Dance Pointe has many programs throughout the year.

Co-ed Adult Volleyball is available on a drop-in basis on Thursday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m. Yoga classes and Zumba classes are offered on several weekdays at varying times. Boot Camp sessions are available Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pickleball is offered for adults on a drop-in basis on Wednesday evenings 7-9 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Dorothy Hamill Indoor Turf

Looking for a place to hold a sports practice or birthday party? The Dorothy Hamill Rink is available for indoor turf rentals now through mid-August by reservation. The turf can be used for lacrosse, soccer, whiffle ball, flag football, T-ball, and more. If you are interested, please email. The rate is $50 per hour as of July 1.

Greenwich Farmers' Market

The Greenwich Farmers' Market is open for the season at the commuter parking lot on the corner of Arch Street and Horseneck Lane. The market will be held on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Remember to bring your reusable shopping bags. Commuters, do not park in the first several rows adjacent to Arch Street on Saturday mornings!
National Alliance for Youth Sports

Greenwich Recreation is a member organization of NAYS. We provide free training through the NAYS website to our staff and volunteers and any resident interested in learning how to make sports better for youth. Scholarships for Youth

The Parks and Recreation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to income eligible resident families for participation in youth activities. Scholarship applications must be submitted a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the start of the program.
Special Recreation

The Stamford JCC offers many inclusive programs throughout the year. Call 203-487-0946 for information.

Abilis meets the needs of people with developmental disabilities. Their events are posted on their website calendar.

Greenwich Special Olympics offers sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual or physical challenges.
Senior Center News

The Junior Town Tournament will be held July 17. We would like to thank Ric Wellington and Greenwich Independent Insurance for once again paying the green fees for the players. Click on the link for the application for this year's event. The one big change we made is that girls ages 14-17 will play 9 holes from the green tees, since that is how they play most high school matches.

The tournament is fast approaching so please get your entries in as soon as possible. If anyone can volunteer as a scorer or spotter, please fill out the bottom portion of the application. For more information call 203-531-7261 or email.

Credit & Refund Policy

Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program. There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits. The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.
Parks and Recreation Foundation
The Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and programs. The foundation is a 509 (a)(1).
Through the Parks & Recreation Foundation, one is able to donate to the Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund.
