The city of Rosenberg is reminding residents that fireworks are still illegal within city limits. At the June 17, 2025 City Council meeting, Council Members voted to uphold the existing ordinance (Chapter 11, Article 1, Section 11-4) which prohibits the use, possession or discharge of fireworks inside Rosenberg city limits.
As Independence Day approaches, the Rosenberg Police and Fire Departments will be working together to enforce the City’s fireworks ordinance and safety regulations. At the direction of City Council, both departments will maintain an increased presence throughout the City to help deter illegal fireworks use and promote voluntary compliance. This joint initiative is focused on protecting the community, public safety and ensuring a peaceful and lawful holiday celebration for all.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the ordinance and celebrate responsibly. Individuals found to be in violation of the ordinance may be subject to citations, fines and other applicable penalties as outlined in the City Code. To report illegal fireworks activity within City limits, call the Rosenberg Police Department’s non-emergency line at 832-595-3700.
As a reminder, the City invites residents to the Family 4th Celebration at Seabourne Creek Nature Park, Friday, July 4, from 6-10 p.m. This free, family-friendly event features food trucks, live music, lawn games and a patriotic atmosphere perfect for all ages. The event wraps up with a spectacular grand finale—a professionally produced fireworks show to light up the Rosenberg sky in celebration of Independence Day. It’s a fun, safe and festive way for the whole community to come together and enjoy the holiday.
