April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families. NEW! Kit for New Parents Enhanced with Dental Health Kits for Infants & Toddlers
The FREE  Kit for New Parents, which includes an Advice for New Parents DVD, touch-and-feel children's book, and much more, will now include a Dental Health Kit.  The kit includes a zip pouch with an infant finger brush, toddler brush, spiffie wipes, and fluoride 
toothpaste. To become a Kit for New Parents distributor, please complete and return an Order Form.
Help Me Grow in San Joaquin County 
Help Me Grow San Joaquin is a system that assists parents, caregivers, physicians, and agencies to identify at risk children ages 0 to 5, and help them to find community-based programs and services. All children who live in San Joaquin County and are 5 years of age or younger, are eligible for Help Me Grow San Joaquin. Check out the resources below for more helpful information on supporting families with special needs children:
May 4, 2017:   Environment Rating Scales (ECERS, ITERS, FCCERS) Overview.  This workshop  will provide a closer review the tools used to assess and quantify quality in early learning environments.  

May 5, 2017:  
Community Link Meeting: Infant Massage Techniques .  This topic will be presented by Vicky MacKinnon, Physical Therapist, with United Cerebral Palsy.  (No registration required.)

May 7, 2017:   El Concilio's Cinco de Mayo Family Festival .  T he celebration will feature traditional Hispanic culture, dance, food and music, local community resources, services and businesses through a variety of information booths. 

May 13, 2017:   2nd Annual Fruit & Veggie Fest.  The "celebration of healthy living" will feature delicious recipes, fun activities, health screenings, and a tour of Walmart. 

May 20, 2017:  Children & Youth Day at Pixie Woods.  Families can enjoy free admission on    Children and Youth Day at Pi x ie Woods, sponsored by Family Resource and Referral Center and the City of Stockton, Community Services Department. 

May 23, 2017: 
Keys to the Quality Continuum Framework: CLASS Overview.   In the CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) Overview, the assessment of interactions among teachers and children and environments that promote children's social and  cognitive development will be discussed.
