Greetings from C. Darby Ulery, founder of "Let's Go! Fairhope" events-related newsletter, calendar and website resource for Fairhope, Alabama.

This coming weekend marks the beginning of Black History Month, Valentine's Day around the corner, Mardi Gras getting closer, and sunsets holding out until half five.

PLEASE READ:

Seasoned readers know we like to provide information without asking for anything in return other than comments, ideas, and more events.

For the first time in the history of Let's Go! Fairhope (since 2019), I'm asking you to formally consider that the behind-the-scenes cost of providing this resource is increasing, along with everything else, and our longevity is in question.

We are seeing more events than ever in our vibrant community, and we have more readers, website visits, and partnerships than ever before. However, is this service actually needed?

If you would like to continue to see these communications and calendars, please help by contributing financially at the link below.

My birthday is tomorrow, and as I consider my place in this world and the 36532 community, I reflect on feeling a calling to assist our residents, travelers, small businesses and groups in getting out the word about events that are important to Fairhope.

I hope you'll let me know if you see any social, economic, civic or other value in continuing to bring events-information to the community. I won't be offended if you tell me it's time to get a day job. : )

Please don't unsubscribe because of this ask.

Community Interest Interview:

You never know who you're going to meet in Fairhope. This week, we heard from Cody Youngblood of "My Daughter's College Fund Carpet Cleaning." There's got to be a story here just by the name of his business alone. Sure enough...

Thanks to encouragement from his mother and grandmother who spent 35 years in the high-end cleaning business up north, the football-loving entrepreneur from Indianapolis moved to Alabama with a dream to make a better life for himself and his daughter, Becky. Cody says he hit the south coast running with just one scheduled cleaning, his experience, and faith in his heart. Apparently he's now spiffing almost about everything from floors to sofas, boats to helicopters, from Gulfport to Pace.

Considering sports-trivia-themed cleaning events to raise awareness and provide discounts to clients, Cody says relationships with his clients are key. He mused that folks have been known call him about their dogs even when their upholstery isn't soiled. Thrilled to called Baldwin County home with his daughter, wife, and growing business, Cody's advice: "Don’t spend $2500 for a sofa, just clean it so you don’t have to buy new."

You can find him on Facebook.

Welcome to Let's Go! Fairhope, Cody Youngblood.
