Patience is a good thing. We’ve all heard the joke to not pray for patience because God will surely send you the opportunity. It’s all in good jest, but it’s also a good thing to pray for. Paul more than likely prayed for a lot of patience because he needed it.
Paul would go from city to city preaching the Gospel. He saw salvific fruit from his labors, but his mission trips didn’t end once a few people were saved. He stayed to teach them to be a pastor and leader in the church being planted. That’s patience! He had to lead and teach different areas new aspects to faith so they didn’t create syncretism between Jews and Gentiles. It was a job of long suffering.
Question:
What do we learn from Paul in Acts 18:11?
Wherever you serve, serve with patience as you teach the Word of God.
