This Sunday we will join Christians around the world in celebrating Pentecost, the day the followers of Jesus were gifted the Holy Spirit and the Church was born! We will also take the opportunity to take account of where we are as a fellowship of believers and where God may be calling us next, a "State of the Church" so to speak.

We invite you to wear red this Sunday in celebration of Pentecost!

Get to Know Our New Members

As new members join our church family we want to help you get to know them a little better by sharing a brief Q&A intro. We hope you will have a chance to connect with them more personally soon!

Luke & Will Gordon

Luke & Will joined our church by baptism on Sunday, May 14.

Tell us about your family ...

Our family includes Danny (our dad), Jennifer (our mom), our little brother Jack, and our dog Mondo. Mommy's mum, our Nana, Susan Stanley, lives close & we love to have sleep overs. Daddy's parents, our Papa & Grandma, live in Ft. Lauderdale along with our Auntie Blair & Uncle Jason and our two cousins, Harlow & Winter.

What led you to First Baptist Church of St Petersburg?

We have grown up in this church. Mommy & Daddy moved here in 2011.

What is your favorite passage of scripture and/or your favorite hymn or praise song?

Will: My favorite passage is Psalm 23. I learned it at school & know it by heart. My favorite song is "Goodness of God".

Luke: The story of Moses is my favorite story in the Bible because it shows God's miracles and tells us about his whole life. I like how it helps us know how God saved His people and that God keeps His promises.

Where do you go to school?

We both attend St Petersburg Christian School. Will is headed into 2nd Grade & Luke is headed into 5th Grade.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

Will: Soccer, drawing, bowling, ring toss, piano, American Ninja Warrior, bike rides, snow skiing

Luke: Fishing, Legos, reading, soccer, bowling, puzzles, snow skiing

What is a fun fact people may not know about you?

Will: I can play the piano by memory.

Luke: That I can do hula hooping tricks.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We love our baby brother, Jack, and play with him everyday.

New Doors Installed

In recent years, you may have noticed the original exterior wooden doors on the south & east entries of the Multipurpose Room had greatly deteriorated to the point of being not only a cosmetic concern, but also a safety and security one as well.

We recently replaced those eight doors with new "store-front" glass doors matching what we have installed in the newest part of our building. These new doors were funded by a generous gift from the Margaret & David Perry Foundation and from contributions to our Memorial Fund - non-designated contributions made in memory of church members. We are so grateful for the generosity that made this needed capital improvement possible without impacting our operating funds!

The new doors look great, and we're especially glad for the improvement because these entrances are used daily by PromiseLand families and often by guests renting our space. Next time you're on the church campus, be sure to check out the new doors!

Short-term Bible Study

Sundays - 9 a.m. | Through June 4

Ben Winder | Room 204

(WE WILL MEET IN HERITAGE HALL THIS SUNDAY)

"Seeing Through the Eyes of Jesus" calls us back to the central focus of our Christian faith, the Risen and Living Jesus! Through this study we hope to be invited into deeper faithfulness with each other, equipped to offer a bold and positive witness to the risen Jesus, and transformed individually and corporately while we co-labor with God to transform the world.
