The latest news and updates from the City of San Gabriel.
Good afternoon San Gabriel,

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has confirmed its first case of COVID-19 in San Gabriel. Due to healthcare privacy laws, additional information about the individual will not be released. As additional testing is conducted across Los Angeles County, the number of COVID-19 cases is expected to increase in the region.

“Today, the first confirmed case of COVID-19 from within the City of San Gabriel was reported,” said Mayor Jason Pu. “This is not surprising as the number of confirmed cases throughout LA County continues to rise. It does, however, underscore the need for all of us to stay home as much as possible for the health and safety of the entire community.”

We encourage everyone in San Gabriel to continue to adhere to the County’s Safer at Home order, which requires everyone in our community to stay at home unless they are engaging in an essential activity. Staying at home and avoiding non-essential activities is imperative at preventing the additional spread of COVID-19. Residents should continue to practice essential hygiene and social distancing recommendations from the County.
