A Challenge to the Men!

What an incredible morning it was at Joe's Diner this past week! A small group of enthusiastic men gathered for breakfast, and it turned into a fantastic time of fellowship and delicious food. Pastor Scott inspired everyone by presenting an exciting challenge: to match the United Methodist Women in supporting a church in Cuba! This is an amazing opportunity for our men to engage in a worthwhile ministry that truly makes a difference. We’re inviting all men to step up and accept this challenge! The commitment is just $2,000 (collective) a year, and it can have a profound impact on another sister church in Cuba. So, if you’re ready to take this leap of faith and support this vital mission, just stop Pastor Sara or me whenever you see us and say, “I accept!” Let’s rally together and make this happen, gentlemen!

Sermon Series!!

Conversation With God - Listening

This Sunday we continue with our Lenten Sermon Series, focusing on prayer. We will dive into Psalm 46:1-11, which explores how to listen in prayer as we look at our Scripture verses focusing on verse 10. Click the verses above to read them and then come on Sunday and learn what the author was saying with the words, "Be Still". We invite you to join us as we continue our journey in prayer, leading us toward Holy Week. We hope that these weeks will enrich our collective understanding and practice of prayer during this sacred season.

This Sunday, our choral anthem, O Gentle Savior, and closing hymn and postlude - I Am Thine, O Lord, are all written by Fanny Crosby. Crosby was a prolific American hymn writer, poet, and lyricist, renowned for becoming one of the most influential figures in Christian music. Though she was blinded as an infant, she went on to write over 8,000 hymns, many of which continue to be cherished and sung in churches worldwide.

Some of her most beloved hymns include:

Blessed Assurance

To God Be the Glory

I Am Thine, O Lord

Crosby’s hymns span a broad range of Christian themes, emphasizing God’s love, grace, and the hope of salvation. Despite her blindness, she was celebrated for her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith, and the joy that infused her work.

Altar Flowers

This week's altar flowers are given in honor of Deanna Hartigan for her numerous contributions to Soul Sisters by the United Methodist Women.

Every week, you can donate altar flowers for our Sunday worship and dedicate them to the memory of someone who was special to you or to honor someone who presently needs to be recognized! The cost is $40. Purchase and dedication can be arranged by signing up in the church lobby or by sending an email the church at admin@fumcnaples.org. Then you can either pick up your flowers after church or donate them for us to take to organizations in our community, bringing a ray of sunshine to workers and volunteers.

Please be sure to let us know if you or a loved one are in the hospital so Pastors Sara or Scott can come visit and pray with you and your family.

We are always in prayer for our church family, those around the world living in poverty, our leaders, and our country. Please join us in prayer.

Your Giving Is a Form of Worship

For your information:

If you are paying through your bank’s online bill pay, checks are written by your bank which are then mailed to us. If you are able to make an online contribution directly from your checking or savings account through our giving link on our website, we are able to receive the money more quickly than the US mail can deliver it!! Also, if you are able to pay directly from your checking or savings account rather than through a credit card, this can help us avoid paying the credit card fees. Between January and August of 2024, the church has had to pay close to $1000 in credit card fees ($980.11). We would far rather use this money for ministry than to give it to Master Card or Visa!!!!
