Pastor Trudy's Message

Jesus isn't welcomed in His hometown. The rejection of Jesus' message by those closest to him may be a surprise until we realize that we often are challenged to accept things in people that are close to us. Imagine if Jesus had just stayed home and cozy, sharing His wisdom with only the people closest to Him. Maybe this rejection is what was needed to propel Jesus into sharing the Good News more broadly.

Gracious God, rejection stings! Help us to trust You that a moment of rejection is never the final word. In some cases, it may just be the beginning. In Jesus' name, Amen.

What's really happening in Communion?

• Michelle Lata is the Director of Congregational Engagement.
• Faith Sax is the Communications & AV Coordinator.
• Office Position is currently being covered by Kathie Thurow in the interim and is expected to be filled soon.

Sharai Jacob will be ordained at a worship service held at 3PM on February 11 at Epiphany Lutheran Church (314 Vallette Street, Elmhurst). All are welcome to attend and celebrate with soon-to-be Pastor Sharai Jacob! Unable to attend? Cards/gifts may be dropped off at GLC this weekend and Pastor Trudy will deliver them to her.
