Coach Archibald shared his excitement about joining our community, saying, “I am grateful for the opportunity to assume roles of leadership within the St. Edward community. Positivity within the building has been noteworthy, and I am excited to begin contributing to and executing the new strategic plan. In football specifically, there is no shortcut to take a small program and suddenly make it competitive again. This is going to be a process of seasons that starts with increasing our numbers and getting high character football players in Chicagoland to join our community and embrace our mission. From there, our commitment to the weightroom and learning the game in detail are what can return the Green Wave to being formidable, now amidst the Chicagoland Christian Conference.”
This is a transformational moment in the trajectory of St. Edward High School. The school leadership team is committed to building a structure that supports excellence across every area of student life. Mr. Archibald is an accomplished educator and coach who understands how to lead with purpose, build strong relationships, and champion the mission of Catholic values within athletic programs. We look forward to him supporting and leading our storied athletic program for many years to come.
We also want to express our gratitude to Shane Finnane, Moises Quiroga, and our previous football coaches, all of whom are alumni, for their dedication and perseverance in leading and supporting our football program over the past few years. Their commitment to St. Edward and to our student-athletes is deeply valued.
I look forward to the work ahead, with Maureen Mann in her continuing role as Dean of Academics, with Dave Archibald as he begins his service as Dean of Athletics, and with our dedicated staff, faculty, coaches, and volunteers as we work together to strengthen St. Edward High School’s position for the future while providing new and continuing opportunities for our current students. Together with the Executive Committee of Advisors (ECA), which serves as a school advisory board, and the Strategic Planning committee, we are taking important steps to align our organizational structure with best practices recommended for all Diocese of Rockford high schools.
I am excited to share the new strategic plan with you in July, after approval from the ECA. We are building thoughtfully and strategically, strengthening structures that will help our school thrive for years to come. I am grateful for your continued support and partnership as we move forward together.
Sincerely,
