First-Ever ‘Fall Folk Festival’ Comes to Old Sturbridge Village
Folk and Americana musical acts play amid the sights and sounds of the Village in fall, Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021

Sturbridge, M.A. – On Saturday, Sept. 25, Old Sturbridge Village will host its first-ever Fall Folk Festival at the Village from 9:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Included with standard daytime admission tickets, guests will be invited to take in the sounds of folk and Americana music from artists across the region, along with the sights of the New England autumn season.
Upon arrival at the Village, visitors will receive a map and schedule with information on participating musical acts, locations, and performance times. Planned artists and acts currently include (subject to change):

Zack Slik – Old time porch music in a one-man hoedown style. Original songs and traditional standards, played on banjo, mandolin, harmonica, guitar, with a mix of blues, oldtime, hokum, folk and jugband jazz. Performing on the Gristmill Porch at 1:00p.m. and 4:00p.m.

Local Freight – Bluegrass band featuring clean harmonies, strong pickin’, and a solid groove. Season musicians John Tibert (mandolin/vocals), Lynne Fountain (bass/vocals), and Rich Piccarreto (guitar/vocals) come together on original songs and bluegrass classics alike. Performing on the Gristmill Porch at 11:30a.m. and 2:30p.m.

The Meadow Brothers – Playing a mix of homegrown, folked-up, countrified, rockn’rolled and roots music. Performing at the Center Meetinghouse at 12:00p.m. and 3:00p.m.

Fox and the Dragon – Husband and wife duo Dave Magario and Dani Red. Duet guitars offering a stripped acoustic sound and haunting harmonies, with a storytelling-folk sound. Performing at the Center Meetinghouse at 1:30p.m. and 4:00p.m.

Big Jon Short - Armed with foot percussion, a National Reso-phonic Guitar and Lowebow cigar-box reso-hillharp, Big Jon Short’s high energy solo performances bring a foot-stomping show that taps into the heart of the songs, regional styles, and folklore of the Blues and its importance to American music. Performing on the Common at 11:00a.m. and 2:00p.m.

The Clements Brothers – Identical twins George and Charles Clements bring roots, rock, bluegrass, jazz, and classical influences to their performance, with a unique blended voice that is both enthralling and intimately real. Performing in the Parsonage Barn at 12:00p.m. and 3:00p.m.

The Briana White Band – An acoustic/pop singer-songwriter using guitar as both a string and percussion instrument to produce a unique and exciting sound. Performing in the Parsonage Barn at 2:00p.m. and 4:00p.m.
Visitors to the Village for the Fall Folk Festival can also enjoy harvest activities and on-site demonstrations. Farmers will be hard at work bringing in the crops and preserving them for the winter, tradespeople will be continuing their dedicated work to create tools and home goods, and costumed historians will be tending to daily life in the Village. Farm animals will also be available to see and interact with, amongst the beautiful fall colors and stunning Village views.

About Old Sturbridge Village
Old Sturbridge Village, first opened to the public in 1946, is one of the country's oldest and largest living history museums, celebrating life in early New England from 1790-1840. It is the largest living history museum in the Northeast, celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2021.
