MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

May 5, 2025

With a June 30 end date approaching, the 153rd Delaware General Assembly returns to work this week with about nine calendar weeks remaining in the session. While several proposals have our attention, a few have garnered more than others.

Our End-of-Session Policy Conference on May 21 will highlight key bills before the General Assembly, with first-hand insights from the policymakers who introduced and sponsored them. Topics include pay transparency with Rep. Melanie Ross Levin, energy costs with Sen. Stephanie Hansen, and permitting fees with DNREC Secretary Greg Patterson. Additionally, Speaker of the House Melissa Minor-Brown and Senate President Pro Tempore David Sokola will provide a legislative wrap-up and share the priorities their respective chambers are considering before adjournment.

Join us and engage with policymakers on topics of relevance to you and your employees. Please register here and make your voice heard.

News You Can Use

This is a light week for economic data, but a busy week for speeches from key policymakers who drive the broader economic discussion. We start the week off tomorrow with U.S. trade deficit figures from March, followed by the Fed FOMC meeting, remarks from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, and March consumer credit data on Wednesday. This is a very busy week for companies hosting earnings calls. Here are a few of note. On Monday, BioNTech, CAN Financial, Cabot, Ethan Allen, Ford Motor, JELD-WEN, and the Williams Companies join dozens of others with calls. On Tuesday, ADM, Aramark, Ball Corp, Constellation Energy, Marriott, Advanced Micro Devices, Chemours, Redfin, and Rivian Automotive are part of a big lineup. Wednesday is lead by Walt Disney, CDW, Edgewell Personal Care, Johnson Controls, Uber, B&G Foods, Carvana, Corteva, DoorDash, Tetra Tech, Zillow, and others. Olaplex, Planet Fitness, Coinbase Global, Lyft, Calumet Specialty Products, Starwood Property Trust, and others round out a busy week.
