Making Lemonade out of Lemons

Sunday, Sept. 27th Unfortunately, there was a mix-up in our regular meeting place date at Mary's clubhouse, so the potluck and meeting was cancelled. If we can't get to the meeting, the meeting will come to us.

  5. Need Letters to the Editor.
  6. Jim M., Aaron S., and Beth D. are working on getting Taishya Adams t-shirts printed by next week. We hope to wear them at NO Kings.

II. Guy: Divestment:

  1. Write a letter to City Council now. Submit Here

Guy's OpEd was published in the Daily Camera on 9/23/26. He explains how Boulder is not following the Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) criteria that preclude the City from investing in certain products and services that voters and previous city councils have determined are antithetical to the values we hold dear. These criteria place ethics ahead of profitability and assure Boulderites that every penny of the City’s profit from its investment portfolio comes from corporations that do not violate the values of most citizens of Boulder.

Guy explains which Boulder investments are not following the SRI criteria, and gives examples of which companies would be sound investments under the SRI. Read Guy's OpEd

III Beth: No Kings:

  1. No Kings is October 17th, 12:00-2:00. Glen Huntington Bandshell at Canyon Blvd. & Broadway. This event is pushing to get people to vote early.
  2. No Justice No Peace will be having 2 tables to hand out information and collect emails. The organizers of No Kings Boulder were contacted. We can't have tables inside the event, so we will have tables on the perimeters, most likely where we protest on Saturdays.
  3. Beth will check into if we need a permit to table.
  4. We would like to make a 3' x 6' banner with our group name for each table.
  5. Handing out buttons is being considered.

What is needed:

  1. Each banner is about $34. Donations for this.
  2. 500 button-making supplies- $70. Donations for this.
  3. Two people for each table to hand out info/buttons/collect emails
  4. We need about 500 flyers. You can print out about 50 a day for free at the library. Not sure about colored flyers. Of course, color would be best. Below is the flyer.

IV. Beth and Mary; Saturday Mornings:

1 .What's working; what's not-

Working: Music, singing, people constantly walking with signs across intersections, body cams.

Suggestion: Someone with email sign-up clipboard. Flyers always on hand.

Not Working- Can't read most of the old signs.

Suggestion: New, bigger signs. Beth can design colorful signs that are printed on vinyl and have wooden poles to hold them up for under $15 each.

Watch video for idea on sign action.
