Boulder Peace Weeks

The Boulder Rotary Club organized an 11-event Boulder Peace Weeks from September 17-27. The goal of Peace Weeks is to build a collaborative public/civic engagements that promotes informed and constructive discourse about peacebuilding and mediation efforts, both at home and abroad, in these conflict-filled times.

Today, there were booths at Boulder Creek Park next to the Farmers market, with many peace organizations. Several of those were the Boulder Nablus Sister City Project, Rocky Mountain Peace & Justice, and YWCA. I'm not sure why Joe Neguse had a table there, but he did.

Taishya Adams Visits FJTP Rally

On Saturday, September 5th, Taishya Adams joined our rally, speaking to the group at the end.

Taishya Adams, a Boulder City Council member running for Boulder mayor, bases her platform on collective liberation, climate resilience, affordability, and systemic change. She is very in tune to the suffering of the Palestinians.

I find her approachable, people-oriented, willing to listen and help where she can, and unflinchingly solid on where she stands.

You can watch the video of her speaking to the group at the end of our rally below.

Update on Action Taken on 2 Assaults

Police dropped the assault case on James D. He would like to pursue a dispute resolution meeting with the aggressor who he was assaulted by, and a mediator.

Beth D. is not going to pursue her assault case, as it would be expensive and nearly impossible to prove anything without video evidence. I am full-force going after Officer Chartrand who took the report of the assault. He blatantly lied on the report about an irrelevant issue. He said he observed a sign on my on June 7th, when I attended the Jewish Festival, that said 'Death to Israel'. The sign I had on my car is the one below. On September 10th, I contacted Chartrand's superior Sgt. Gallerani, explaining the situation on voice mail, that I wanted the lie removed from the report, and that I'd like a call back. I have heard nothing from him. I will call again Monday, and if I don't receive a call back, I will include this issue with the meeting the group hopes to have with the DA, Chief of Police, Taishya Adams, Attorney David Eason, and several group members. The meeting is for solving the ongoing harrassment problem from Aaron Brooks,

Guy's Excellent Letter to the City Auditor

Guy B. has been busy holding the City of Boulder accountable for its non-compliance in its investment portfolio. It violates the City's own regulations for Socially Responsible Investing (SRI). He wrote a letter to the City Auditor on September 11th.

Guy contacted the Boulder's CFO in January and April of this year about the City's non-compliance. He basically got the run around. He requested a meeting in April, to which he got no response, He contacted the CFO in May, cc'ing the city council. He again wrote the city council in May and in June. The City manager did respond-but with excuses. Guy again wrote the City Manager and CFO in June.

Read Guy's latest letter to the City Auditor on September 11th.
