First Love??? 8/13/25

AHH!!! FIRST LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How many of YOU “older” folk well remember them older days....................
When young lovers refused to be the first one to “hang-up” and end the PROTRACTED love laced conversations??????? Yep, the good ole days.................................
How well do I remember my old Bell South green wall phone with the 30 foot extension cord!!!!!
How easily and quickly do WE forget our “first love!”
I remember when I first was SAVED how fervently did I LOVE Jesus!!!
It was NOTHING-NO inconvenience for me to find and attend EVERY night PRAYER and home Bible studies. It was the height of the JESUS REVOLUTION and thousands of young people were jumping on the PEACE TRAIN and desperately seeking the Lord Jesus.
How happily I vanquished my old life and sinful habits:
Hebrews 10:32–33 (KJV 1900)
32But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
33Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
Somehow, I KNEW, I could not go back to my old hangouts and old friends as they were stronger than I in the ways of THIS WORLD-AMEN!!!???
REMEMBER the Story of the Children of God journeying through the wilderness for 40 years????
REMEMBER the MANNA???????
Exodus 16:4 (KJV 1900)
4Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Numbers 11:7–8 (KJV 1900)
7And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.
8And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
OH, the MEMORY/MEMORIES!! Man, THANK GOD for this delicious FREE daily bread for God.................
BUT, how quickly that “delicious, daily bread” got old!!!!
Numbers 11:6 (KJV 1900)
6But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
As a young, fledgling and struggling Pastoral student, I was BLESSED to be sired by a wonderful mentor, Brother Harry Mushegan.
Daily, he taught another young Pastor and I in morning Bible studies accompanied with Mrs. Winner coffee and biscuits-THEN it was time for lunch.
EVERY SINGLE DAY-Monday through Friday he took the two of us to lunch-EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!
There was a local eatery called Ryan's-a steak and salad buffet restaurant locally that he loved to dine at. We had to at least pass by the restaurant to go to ANY other eating establishment, but.................. Brother Mushegan LOVED Ryan's!!!!
The other pastor and I would beg him to eat ANYWHERE ELSE BESIDE Ryan's, but most of the time we ate at Ryan's!!!
Now you would suppose that was wonderful- RIGHT???
FREE steak dinners!! All you can eat, salad included!!!! But, much like the children of Israel, you can only eat so much steak and fixins'!!!!!
How quickly do we grow to despise the regular-the BLESSINGS that our God grants each of us DAILY!!!!!????
WE TAKE GOD'S BLESSING AND GOODNESS FOR GRANTED!!!!

1Bless the Lord, O my soul: And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:

EVERY morning, WHEN I arise, I GRATEFULLY count heads!!! If I spot little Amanda stirring on my baby monitor and IF I notice my wife busying about, I THANK GOD!!!!
