MISSION OF THE MONTH

FAMILY PROMISE

The mission of Family Promise of Carteret County (FPCC) is to coordinate Christian hospitality services to homeless parent(s) with a child or children, and pregnant women.

Thirteen host congregations aided by support churches, unite hearts and hands to provide lodging, meals, and compassionate assistance for homeless families. FPC’s operational day center provides residents with access to phones, the internet, and a network of social service agencies, which are vital tools to FPC’s intensive case management services. The religious community’s assistance coupled with the day program allows Family Promise of Carteret in a period of about 60 days, to do what families have been unable to do for themselves. Working together, families are equipped with the necessary skills for a better future.

The day center is currently housing 14 residents. Outside of monetary donations, Family Promise could always use anyone who is able to schedule time to help with tutoring (reading and math) for the children who are staying there. This would be a great opportunity for a retired teacher.

If anyone has any questions, please direct them to Jenn Hill or Keith Henry (board member).

WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY

WITH PASTOR SARAH

Order your study book!

Join us on Wednesday evenings from 5:45–6:45 p.m. in The Loft for a 10-week Bible study beginning February 11th. We will skip 2/18 and 4/8 so it will conclude 4/22.

Knowing Jesus as Savior focuses on the Gospel of Luke shining a light on God’s plan of salvation throughout history, culminating in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The link to the study book is available through the church website and app.

VIRTUAL BIBLE STUDY

Interested in going deeper in your faith but struggling to find the time? Join Pastor Sarah for a virtual bible study for 10 weeks beginning on Feb 11th! Read along through the daily reader. Participate in a group text thread with Pastor Sarah and other participants to share prayer concerns and thoughts on the readings and to hold each other accountable for doing the daily reading. Opportunities to drop in for discussion with Pastor Sarah and other participants will be scheduled throughout the study (these will look like open office hours at the church and coffee shops).
