The Great Invitation
All-Church Forum
Sunday, October 5, 2025 | Following Worship (approximately 10:30 a.m.)
Throughout the month of October, Pastor Deb and the Session will be presenting a worship series we are calling “The Great Invitation,” and we need your participation! As we continue to discern where God is leading us as a congregation, we want to spend a month focusing on our shared work of hospitality and welcome to all.
This series will kick off on October 5th, which is World Communion Sunday; and after worship, we will be hosting a chili lunch/potluck and an all-church forum. Rooted in the spirit of our faith, this gathering is a unique opportunity to explore what it truly means to create a welcoming and loving environment for all, just as we are called to do.
This forum will feature engaging discussions on how we can cultivate a culture of genuine welcome and practice hospitality in our church community and beyond. Whether you are a long-time member or new to our community, your voice is essential to this important conversation.
We need your involvement! Can we count on you to attend?

Pursue What Makes for Peace
The church was created to be connected. Like the classic hymn reminds us, “All who follow Jesus, all around the world. Yes, we’re the church together!”
We can feel the power of the connectional church at work whenever individuals, congregations, mid councils, and our national and global partners serve together to the glory of God, creating a uniquely interconnected tapestry that reflects both the unity and diversity of God’s beautiful Creation.
This tapestry is not only a reflection of the distinctiveness of each person but also embodies the strength, resilience and powerful force — God — who connects us, even as it simultaneously demonstrates the importance of each individual thread. Read more.
If you feel called to give, please make your donation by Sunday, October 5th. Thank you!

Presbytery of Baltimore approves groundbreaking reparative justice fund
The Reparative Justice Fund will provide direct support to African American congregations and communities in central Maryland
Presbytery of Baltimore | Presbyterian News Service | September 13, 2025
The Presbytery of Baltimore took a historic step Saturday by approving the establishment of a Reparative Justice Fund at its 908th Stated Meeting held at Catonsville Presbyterian Church. This action affirms the presbytery’s commitment to truth, repair and reconciliation in response to the enduring harm of slavery and systemic racism.
The Reparative Justice Fund is designed to provide direct support to African American congregations and communities within the presbytery’s bounds, with a focus on empowerment, self-determination and healing. Six historically Black congregations — Cherry Hill Community, Grace, Knox, Lochearn, Madison Avenue, and Trinity Presbyterian churches will receive initial priority in recognition of their historic underfunding and exclusion. At least one-quarter of the Fund’s resources will be directed toward these congregations, while additional disbursements will support community-based initiatives rooted in equity and justice.
