everything [in] between:
righteousness & mercy
Luke 19: 1-10 (Zacchaeus greets Jesus)
The crowds grumble at Jesus’ self-invitation to stay with Zacchaeus, and their righteous indignation isn’t without cause. As a tax collector, Zacchaeus has extorted money and acted in collusion with the empire, using his position to oppress his own people. It is important to call out oppression, and yet, Jesus offers mercy. That mercy then begets more mercy as Zacchaeus, unprompted, offers to return what he took, and then some.

Great Success Story: Karen
Day By Day Shelter | 420 Ceape Avenue, Oshkosh | Schedule Donation Dropoff: 920.203.4536
We routinely ask you to support our community partner – Day By Day Shelter. The Shelter’s needs are many, and later on in this article, we’ll give you their updated ‘needs’ list. But for the moment, let’s bring to life the impact that our donations make. Here’s Karen’s story.
After leaving a difficult situation, Karen found herself homeless and turned to Day By Day for support. While facing increasing medical challenges, the team helped her access healthcare, disability benefits, and housing resources. She also participated in Day By Day budgeting and life skills programs to prepare for independence.
Karen said the thing she liked best about the Shelter was, “The staff, and the people. I made some friends along the way, too!”
In December of 2024, Karen moved into her very own apartment for the first time, calling it “BLISS!” Read more about Karen's story.
You make a difference every time you donate to Day By Day, whether it’s a monetary donation, your time, or items from their ‘needs’ list. We urge to do what you can for Day By Day; and to that end, here are the items that they desperately need at the moment:
ground coffee * powdered creamer * liquid laundry detergent * dish soap
cleaners: floor, spray, and window * hand soap * dryer sheets * paper towels * all size garbage bags

Hands Off!
Mass Mobilization & National Day of Action
Saturday, April 5, 2025 | 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. (EDT)
The National Museum of African American History and Culture
1400 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20560
Saturday, April 5, 2025 | 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. (CDT)
Sun Dial - downtown Oshkosh | 315 N. Main Street, Oshkosh
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Office of Public Witness will be participating in the Mass Mobilization Hands Off March in Washington, D.C.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. They're taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now. On Saturday, April 5th, people are taking to the streets nationwide to fight back with a clear message: Hands off!
This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.
Join us for a people’s veto day! We reject the Trump-Musk coup and will PROTECT: Medicaid, Medicare, social security, our wallets, our jobs, our bodies, personal data, public land, veteran services, cancer research, NATO, immigrants, consumer protections, clean energy, schools, free speech, trans health care, clean air and more!
If you can’t make it to Washington, join this critical event here in Oshkosh.
A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
