2025 Annual Report

Per Capita

Per capita for 2026 is $41.00 per person. If you are called to offer a per capita payment, please note “per capita” on the memo line of your check.

We want to ensure that everyone understands that per capita apportionments are not considered "dues." We do not "charge" any dues. A per capita payment simply indicates that you wish to assist with the amount that First Pres is assessed by the PC(USA) to support broader goals and objectives. Our local church does not keep any of the per capita contributions. We forward them to the denomination, where they are utilized for these purposes:

  • It is how Presbyterians are trained to become better ruling elders, teaching elders and deacons, and ministers.
  • It is how Presbyterians are helped to discern God's call in their lives.
  • It is how Presbyterians participate in the life of the wider church by serving committees and commissions, regardless of distance or financial resources.
  • It is how Presbyterians participate in the life of the Church universal as we commit ourselves to work and live in fellowship with “all persons in every nation” (Book of Order G-4.0101).

Let's clear up the misconception that per capita is a dues assessment AND/OR that it represents membership in our local faith community. We do encourage contributions to per capita as they free up our resources for local missions and supporting our congregation. However, if you don't wish to contribute per capita, you'll still receive our newsletter, get announcements, be welcomed at events, and most importantly, continue to be a valued member of our flock.

A statement in memory of Renee Nicole Good

The Presbyterian Office of Public Witness laments the death of a mother shot by an ICE agent in Minnesota

January 12, 2026 | Presbyterian Office of Public Witness | Presbyterian News Service

The Presbyterian Office of Public Witness has released a statement on the death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old Presbyterian woman whose fatal shooting by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer last week in Minneapolis has sparked protests around the country. The statement, mourning her death and affirming the right to "peaceful protest and lawful observation" without the threat of deadly government responses, can be read in full below.

Remembering Renee Nicole Good

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15: 12–13

Jesus teaches that there is no greater love than the willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for others, to lay down one’s life for someone else. It is to offer oneself unselfishly for the sake of others, especially the defenseless and the vulnerable.

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, Renee Nicole Good was shot while moving her car, attempting to follow the orders of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer. Her last words, captured on video, were, “I’m not mad at you.” Read more.

More Light Presbyterians Stand with Immigrants

More Light Presbyterians stand with our immigrant siblings and will not abide the unjust, violent, and dehumanizing actions or policies of the current administration.

The board and staff of MLP condemn the actions of the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Patrol, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and all who have collaborated with them in recent immigration actions. We are horrified by the following:

  • The abductions, detentions, and deportations of immigrants and asylum seekers, citizens and non-citizens - frequently without due process, frequently to a country the deportee is not from
  • The horrific conditions that detainees are subjected to in immigrant detention centers/concentration camps, including starvation, abuse, and the separation of children from their families
  • The terrorizing of communities across the country, including violence against protestors and invading homes in the middle of the night
  • The deployment of federal troops without local or state consent

We recognize that queer liberation and immigrant rights are intertwined; that queer and trans immigrants are particularly likely to experience violence during detention and in the countries to which they are deported; that to be queer is to constantly question and transgress dominant systems and to disrupt every false binary of "us" and "them."
