Note from Student Ministry Council in regards to Wednesday Nights for youth:

Lovely Parents,

In January (January 9January 16, January 23January 30), our youth will join the Christ & Culture Discipleship Forum for "Fighting for Joy in Christ in a World of Depression and Anxiety" in King Hall.

We think this forum is relevant to our students and the speaker lineup is phenomenal. We, also, think it is important for our students to interact with other generations within the church. This will have life-long effects on their understanding of church membership and their commitment to the church.

Many studies are showing that students, who are from good families and youth groups, are leaving the church after High School and College. One of the reasons for this is that students are not experiencing the whole life of the church. When students only experience the youth group, they do not appreciate the church nor membership. So, upon graduation, they find same-age relationships outside of the church.

Studies, also, are showing that generation z is the most anxious of any other generation. This forum will be profitable for your student(s).

Please do not allow your student to treat these weeks as off-weeks. This decision was made intentionally for their good in mind.

Be on the look out for special events throughout January. We, also, value our students being together.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please contact Sonny.

The biggest news that is most relevant to your interest is that on Saturday, January 26th during the morning session ("Visionary Parenting"), Rob has requested that families bring their children (as young as ages 3/4/5 up to adult children) to the first hour of the session (9am-10am) for some interactive family discussion.

The whole idea of this particular session is creating a mission for your family and getting the whole family involved in a God-sized vision for how to interact with one another. This would be an excellent opportunity for your family to begin the new year with some very Gospel-centered focus as a unit and we would love for everyone to attend.
