We need your help to show our First Pres College students that we love them and haven't forgotten them! We will be sending letters and gift cards to our college students in late November. We have college addresses for over 65 of our student members! If you would like to donate money or $5.00 gift cards (to places like Starbucks, Target, Wal-Mart, or fast food), please drop your donations in the office by Sunday, November  18 .

WF Mission Trip Fundraising for Guatemala 2019 
We have several fundraisers to help us  get to Guatemala next summer! Please stop by our table on the Link today and see some of the quality bags and totes we are selling, and flip through 
the catalog 
of  items  for  sale . We  are  excited to be selling a quality product, and we receive a 40-45% profit from each item sold. You can also order  online and have the items shipped directly to you . In-person orders (with free shipping) are due 11/14, and online orders (free shipping on purchases over $75) are due 12/12.
Advent Candle
Looking for a special way to serve during Advent? Volunteer to light the Advent candles during worship! We need at least two people to help at every service

returns to teach from his new book
The Human Church . His interactive seminar assumes that "good theology begins with good anthropology." It takes as its trajectory the ordinary symbols of manger, bread, wine, cross and tomb. The symbols are assessed within specific rituals of the Church. Using this method enriches the depth of meaning and personal application of lofty terms like Incarnation, Redemption and Resurrection. Books will be available to purchase for $10.

Food boxes are in the Rotunda between the services, or in the church office . M ost needed items are children's clothes, toys, and all sizes of coats and outerwear . Donated items can be brought to the church December 4-6

Having each member's participation is essential for planning ministry and mission at First Pres in 2019. If you have not yet completed a card with your financial pledge, please consider doing so. IRA Charitable Rollover
Did you know that once you reach the age of 70½ (or older), your IRA distribution (up to $100,000) can be given directly to the church without being taxed? This is just one more creative way you can consider giving. As always, consult your tax advisor.
Israel 2020: A Spiritual    
Journey to the Holy Land
Pastor Kellen and Sarah Smith will lead a pilgrimage to Israel and Palestine for First Pres members and friends March 20-30, 2020.  Email to sign up for trip updates. An informational meeting will be held in January.

First Pres Preschool Priority Enrollment
First Pres Preschool is accepting priority enrollment for the 2019-20 school year. Priority registration is open to church members and returning families through November 30. Classes usually fill during priority registration or soon after, so if you are a church member or attending  our church and thinking about enrolling in our preschool, now is the  time to contact the preschool by  email  or phone at 630-668-5147 x27.
Roseland "Good News" Day Care Center
Starting in November, donations of your new and gently used items will go to the Christmas Sharing program at First Pres. At the end of Christmas Sharing, many remaining items are donated to the Roseland Day Care Center. Thank you for your contributions. Please call Jan Foster at 630-653-2612 with any questions.
Food Pantry
In November our food pantries need DIAPERS in sizes 5 & 6; however, any sizes you have available are appreciated. Grocery items needed include cooking oil, condiments, jelly, canned fruit, chicken soup, tuna fish, women's personal products, toothpaste, and tea. Both heads of PRC and the Interfaith Food Pantry always express their gratitude for the pantry items we send.

Operation Christmas Child
The LOGOS students would like to invite you to join them in packing a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child. Boxes and instructions are currently located in the Rotunda. Genesis/Middle School
There will be several ways to show ABUNDANT COMPASSION both locally and internationally through Sunday School and LOGOS this season.

Operation Christmas Child Boxes For those who do not attend LOGOS, we will have  Operation Christmas Child  boxes available in the rotunda to take home, fill and return to church by 11/14.  LOGOS Middle Schoolers will receive an OCC box at the next LOGOS on 11/7. We will drive to the dollar store that night after dinner to purchase items. Please bring $10. Boxes are due back to church by 11/14.

Christmas Sharing:
- During Sunday School classes 11/18, 11/25, and 12/2, we are asking for diapers and wipes for
Christmas Sharing. We will have a box near the Middle School Education rooms, Stewart Hall 105-107. Thank you in advance for your Joyful Generosity!
- LOGOS Middle Schoolers will help with Christmas Sharing on 12/5 and head to Target to buy a toy and/or gloves/hat/socks. NOTE: No LOGOS for K-5th on 12/5.

Alumni Pie Night

Progressive Dinner

Get all dressed up and we'll have a fun night eating appetizers, entrees and desserts at different homes around town. This event is one that the students really 
look  forward  to  each  year.  We  may  even  have  a   visitor   from  the 
North  Pole !
