'I will be with you'. Join us as we explore scripture to learn the many ways that God is with us - wherever we are and throughout our lives. Taught by Pastor Kyle on the first Tuesday

Jesus Calling at K'Tizo

We do a mind and body centering practice, read from a Jesus Calling Devotion, read 2-3 scriptures and then
have open small group discussion. Please join

The Five Love Languages
Sundays, September 9 - October 7

This Adult Ed class is for everyone - singles, couples, teens, and grandparents.
Learn HOW to love the people in your life in a way that they can fully receive the message. You'll be inspired by real-life stories and find humor as our actors role play examples of the five Love Languages. Find out what your favorite love language is and the favorite love languages of the people close to you. Applying these truths will forever change your relationships. Participants are encouraged to get a copy of the book. The class will meet for 5 weeks.

Wednesday Night Study with Pastor Kellen

Acts chapter 2 records the birth of the church. During this season of vision casting, Pastor Kellen will lead a study and explore the rebirth of First Pres through a biblical lens. Learn about how the Spirit came, the first sermon in scripture, and how the early church was organized.

If you're new to First Pres, coming back to church, just exploring faith, or want to become a member, our Connect Class is the next step. Held over two weeks, the Pastors will guide each interactive session. In part one, you will meet others exploring the church, learn what makes the Presbyterian faith unique, and discover the rich 100-year history of First Pres.

Hands, Feet, and Heart of God

to serve others in our community. We will gather at First Pres to be deployed into the community to show God's love. Be on the lookout for the signup sheets. We will have a variety of activities for all ages. This is a family event. Let's let our neighbors know we care.

Roseland 'Good News' Day Care Center
We continue to collect diapers, wipes, baby food and formula, infant and children's clothing - all sizes, toys, adult clothing, and household items. Please bring them to the Rotunda coatroom marked 'Roseland'. Thank you in advance! We ARE making a difference!! Any questions, please call Jan Foster at (630) 653-2612.
Our food pantries need diapers in sizes 5 & 6; however, whatever sizes you have available will be appreciated. Grocery items needed include peanut butter, jelly (all flavors), cooking oil, condiments, fruit cocktail, apple juice, grape juice, orange juice, and cleaning supplies. Your donations are appreciated.

Children ages 2 years - 5th grade will explore families in the Bible, learn how today's faith families care for children as they grow, build loving relationships, and find out what it means to be part of God's family. Look for the registration table downstairs and come join us!
A few more teachers are needed to round off our teaching teams. Please contact Lynn Nuzzo if you would like to help pass on the faith to our younger generation!
LOGOS is Back!

Don't miss a weekend of "getting to know you" with animal farm, archery, boating, chapel, climbing, campfire worship, hay rides, hoedown, bobbing for apples, gourd bowling, bb gun target shooting, pumpkin carving, square dance, harvest carnival, leather shop, lasertag, night hikes, night paddle, star gazing, zipline, trail rides, gaga ball and the Arbor.Vitae worship band. This is a time we will together set goals, make commitments, pray together and focus our year on God.

We will join the Adult Ed hour, after the 8:30 a.m. worship service, for five weeks to learn about the 5 Love Languages, as described in the book by Gary Chapman. Understanding these ways of showing and receiving love will help us in all of our relationships. Meet us in Stewart Hall! And don't worry - there will still be donuts! :)
WF Youth Group, 6-8:15 p.m.
All High Schoolers and friends are welcome to meet us in the Rotunda for a fun night! We'll play games, have snacks, have a Q&A devo with the adult leaders, and small group time! The beginning of the school year is a great time to make a fresh commitment to strengthening your faith and making new connections with the awesome youth and adults of First Pres. Please join us, and bring a friend!

September 15-16 Confirmation Class Retreat
Confirmands, meet the bus at 1:00 p.m. on Sept. 15 with your overnight gear. We have a super fun and BUSY retreat planned
with lots of learning, serving, and writing a first draft of your Statement of Faith. We will return around 5:00 p.m.
on Sunday, and you are welcome to head home then - BUT, we really encourage you to stay for WF Youth
Group from 6-8:15 p.m. to practice those fellowship skills we'll be learning about! We'll order pizza for anyone who would
like to stay, so please let me know if you'll join us!
