School Supply Drive

Lincoln Elementary and Elmore Elementary have combined this year, creating a greater need for support among local students and families. This also gives us a meaningful opportunity to show the love of Christ in a practical way.

As a church family, we have the chance to help children start the school year with everything they need to learn, grow, and feel confident in their classrooms.

In addition to the school supplies listed on the full supply list, we are also collecting:

• New socks and underwear (these must be new)
• White, black, or gray t-shirts in various children's sizes
• Backpacks for the children (they do not need to be clear)

Donations may be placed near the table at the back of the sanctuary, in the narthex. Every item you set there becomes a tangible reminder to a child that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

The teachers and students are extremely grateful for everything our congregation does for them.

Thank you for showing Christ's love in such a practical, generous way as these kids prepare for the new school year.

Per Capita

Per capita is the amount every church pays to the presbytery, synod, and General Assembly offices to play our part in the denominational ministry of the PC(USA).

Each council receives a portion of the total amount: this year, Winnebago Presbytery gets $23.66, the Synod of Lakes and Prairies gets $5.50, and the General Assembly gets $11.26 per adult member, for a total of $40.42. It is calculated on the number of active members we report each year to those offices. Our total bill is about $6,600!

If each member of the church contributes that $40.42 to the church and marks that payment as “per capita,” then we are not pulling that money away from other ministries or our endowment funds.

Please submit your payments online or by check to the Finance office. If you can’t remember whether you’ve paid this year or not, you may call Lori Middlemas in the Finance office on Tuesdays.

Generosity in Action

In this month’s Generosity in Action, we’re taking a closer look at two additional categories from our Acts of Generosity campaign: generosity extended to our friends and family and generosity extended by providing goods and services to people in need.



Each act, whether seen or unseen, reflects a shared commitment to caring for one another and supporting the work God is doing in and through our church. As we continue highlighting these stories, we hope they serve as a meaningful reminder of the many ways generosity is already at work among us.

Acts of Generosity - Helping Friends & Family

• I cleaned the kitchen for my mom
• Raked neighbors yard and grocery shopping for elderly
• I bought my sister lunch
• Helping a friend move
• I let my best friend stay at my house when he couldn’t be at home
• I took a young friend deer hunting for the first time
• Take care of dogs when asked
• Helped out with food
• Took a friend to dinner
• Moved a pool table
• Invited Ben to join us for worship
• Yard work for friend who is legally blind
• Driving and spending time with a friend at the honor flight
• I bought and shared food and snacks with a friend
