Generosity Luncheon

Sunday November 1, 2026

Generosity Luncheon

Runners or sitters, regular attenders or online watchers, long-time members or recent arrivals—all are welcome and expected to come to lunch on Sunday November 1 as the Generosity team hosts a lunch buffet in Banner Hall immediately following worship.

The lunch is catered by the Grounded Café and will include corn chowder, harvest salad and pasta salad, and a variety of sandwiches and wraps, both vegetarian and meat, plus cookies for dessert.

This effort is the chance to share conversation at the tables about how faith was shared with you, how you carry it today, and what you see for the future in this place as we pass the baton to each person present for participation in this year’s campaign.

If you are unable to be present for lunch, a pair of elders or deacons from the church will need to bring your baton to your home, so if you could save them that trip it would be nice!

School-age children present on this day will be invited to join leaders in the Fellowship Room for a special kids-only program featuring the movie Coco on the big screen and a lunch of hot dogs and macaroni & cheese.

Commitment Sunday
Sunday November 22nd, 2026

Commitment Sunday

Inside each red plastic baton we have distributed was a pledge card, the opportunity to pray about and then make a commitment of your own gifts and resources for the work of the church in 2027.

The Generosity team is asking for your pledge cards to be brought or mailed to the church on Commitment Sunday November 22.

The baton is for you to keep, but the pledge card is the commitment you make to participate in the race of faith and carry our mission forward in this place.

Don’t miss our worship service this day, which will feature a “passing of the baton” from one generation to another as we make our commitment to carry the mission.

Faith, Fun & Fellowship: Advent

Sunday November 15th, 2026

Preparing For Christ's Coming

This November, our Sunday School classes will be journeying toward Christmas together, led by Kris Walker.

Students will explore the season of Advent. We’ll look at what it means to wait with hope, how we can prepare our hearts, and why the coming of Jesus is worth getting ready for.

Through stories, conversation, and hands-on activities, our learners will discover that Advent is about more than counting down the days.

It’s a time to slow down, look for God at work, and make room for Christ in our lives.

Sunday School meets the 3rd Sunday of each month! Come join us as we get ready, together!

We Gather Together to Ask the Lord’s Blessing

Joint Thanksgiving Worship

Monday November 23, 2026

Joint Thanksgiving Worship

It is our turn to host the joint Thanksgiving worship service with our sisters and brothers in Christ from First United Presbyterian Church in DePere and First Presbyterian Church in Wequiock!

We will gather here on Monday, November 23rd at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Choir members from all three churches will join to be directed by our own Michael Raught and the service will feature a funny skit on Luke 17: 11-17 called “Where Are the Other Nine?”

A homemade pie and hot apple cider reception will follow the service. Come give thanks with us!

Youth Lock-In: Faith, Fun & Fellowship

Sunday November 7-8, 2026

Youth Lock-In

Calling all youth! Our Youth Lock-In is happening November 7–8, and you won’t want to miss it.

We’ll spend the night together with games, prizes, food, and plenty of time to hang out with friends, all while growing in faith and fellowship.

The adventure starts with a trip to Midwest Super Speedway in Green Bay for some go-karting. Back at church, we’ll fuel up, play, and spend time together.

We’ll also give back with a service project here at the church.

What to bring: snacks to share, a sleeping bag and pillow, $10 for go-karting, and any toiletries you’ll need.

Permission slips are available in the CE office and are due by November 5th.

Questions?

Contact Joel at ce@firstpresgreenbay.org.

Parents, please encourage your teens to join us.

It’s a great night!

Fourth Sunday Forum: Report From The Border

Sunday November 22, 2026

Report from the Border

By: Ellen Smith

Have you ever wondered what is on the other side of the border wall that stretches along the US/Mexico border?

On my recent trip to visit Frontera de Cristo, the Presbyterian border ministry located in the sister cities of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico and Douglas, Arizona, I found an extraordinary and loving community engaged in listening and responding to the needs of people on the move as well as those located near the wall more permanently.

Come to the Fourth Sunday Forum on November 22 and see photos, hear stories, and drink great coffee from the region!

The Outreach Committee is also planning to make this special coffee available for direct purchase for those interested—we can support the coffee growers and roasters and enjoy really good coffee.

Don’t miss out!

Ballots & Baked Goods: Bake Sale

Tuesday November 3, 2026

Ballots & Baked Goods

Help us by contributing your homemade baked goods on Sunday, November 1 or Monday, November 2 for this sale.

There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board, so please let us know what you’re planning to bring so we don’t have too many duplicates.

We plan on getting started on Tuesday morning November 3rd at 7:00am.

We can plate and wrap your contributions, or you can do that yourself—our preference is for individual servings so voters can ‘grab & go’ that day.

Thanks!

Advent Workshop

Sunday November 29, 2026

Advent Workshop

“Advent” means coming or arrival. Rather than just waiting for Christmas to get here, we use the season of Advent to prepare for Christ’s coming.

Advent begins this year on Sunday, November 29th, and we will kick off the season with our annual Advent Workshop following worship.

Open to all ages, this event will feature crafts, activities, and Kevin’s famous chili lunch.

As always, we’ll have Loni’s cut-out cookies to decorate (and eat!).

We will also have a service project that people of all ages can join.

Please join us for this all-church celebration.

Welcome New Members!

The Session recently received five new members to our family and faith who will be recognized in an upcoming worship service. Look for their photos on the wall between Pastor Katie’s and the Finance office.

Here’s a brief introduction:

Gavin Andersson

Gavin Andersson joins us from Spring Lake Church and has gotten involved right away, singing in the choir, providing special music, and serving as a worship reader so far.

He works for the WIC program downtown at the front desk and as an interpreter.

Gaby Jimenez

Gaby Jimenez was a child of this church but never confirmed her faith as a teen, so she’s ready to be a full member rather than on the sidelines!

She is the daughter of Cassie Aceituno, great-granddaughter of Leah & Lorin Mott.

Gaby works for her mother doing commercial cleaning. She has taught Sunday school and helped with the youth group.

Fergus Grant

Fergus Grant is familiar to many of us as our director of Communications & Marketing and all-around tech guru!

He began attending worship and other programs of the church in order to take pictures to use in our social media and now finds his own faith growing, so he wants to join the church.

Aaron & Morgan Schmidlkofer

Aaron & Morgan Schmidlkofer are transferring their membership from First Presbyterian in Marshfield.

They are relatively new residents of Green Bay and have two children, Caroline who is 2 and Thomas who is 10 months old. Morgan teaches music in a Green Bay elementary school and Aaron works from home with Foundation Finance.

They have already joined the choir and look forward to getting more involved.

Boiler Repairs & Sunday Worship

Sunday November 1, 2026

Sunday Worship

As a reminder, we are in the process of getting our boilers repaired. Work is underway, but the repairs will not be finished by this weekend. The Sanctuary will have no heat for Sunday's worship service.

Please plan and dress for a cool Sanctuary. Bring an extra layer, a sweatshirt, or even a blanket so you can stay comfortable throughout the service.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility while the repairs are completed.

We look forward to worshiping together on Sunday, warm hearts and all.
